The Journey in Each MEMDT Student’s Development

MEM Dance Theatre’s teaching philosophy is to provide guidance to each family and student in learning about the Arts in a fun, rewarding, and safe experience. The intent is to create a path for personal and artistic success; whether a student aspires to enjoy a Recreational or Pre-Professional curriculum in the dance/theatre arts or as a member of our Dance Company.

  • At the beginning of each school year, a student’s plan is refreshed to ensure one’s aspirations are consistent with the classes registered for; which are centered on developing skills and other aptitudes that build a foundation as a student matures. In each of the three age-based stages of development, the intended outcomes are for students to become more self-assured and focused on where their interests lie; with a thirst for knowledge, curiosity, and desire to improve.

Students are also mentored in how best to present themselves as they progress in their training and when applying for assistantships, internships, summer intensives, and college admission. For over 40 years MEMDT has been founded on established and proven best practices taught by a caring and experienced faculty; dedicated to appreciating and supporting the differences and gifts we share in the Friendships and Relationships cultivated along the way.
