MEMDT Dress Code 2026 - 2027

MEMDT students are expected to maintain proper dress code as described below.

All dress code shoes are available and should be purchased through the MEMDT Classwear Store (with the exception of hip hop sneakers, pointe shoes, and heels).

    Attire:
    Light pink leotard (skirts allowed if attached to leotard), light pink tights, hair secured away from the face.

    Shoes:
    Pink leather ballet slippers with elastics knotted and then trimmed. (#MEM-W400-PK)

  • SHOP PRE-BALLET, TAP, & TUMBLE STORE

    Attire:
    Light pink leotard (skirts allowed if attached to leotard), light pink tights, hair secured away from the face.

    Shoes:
    Ballet: Pink leather ballet slippers with elastics knotted and then trimmed. (#MEM-W400-PK)

    Tap: Black no-tie patent leather tap shoes. (#MEM-W2600-BP)

    Attire:
    Kindercombo (Ballet,Tap): Black leotard, pink tights, hair in a bun or secured away from the face.

    Primary Hip Hop: Baggy/comfortable clothes (no leotards, tights, jeans, or jewelry), hair secured away from the face.

    Primary Acro: Any formfitting dance attire, any color or style (no jewelry), hair secured away from the face.

    Shoes:
    Ballet: Pink leather ballet slippers with elastics knotted and then trimmed (#MEM-W400-PK)

    Tap: Black patent leather no-tie tap shoes (MEM-W2600-BP)

    Hip Hop: Any all black low-rise sneaker (not available through MEMDT Classwear Store)

    Acro: Barefoot

    Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern/Lyrical/Contemporary: Black leotard, pink tights, hair in a bun. Plain black formfitting shorts allowed for jazz, tap, and modern/lyrical/contemporary.

    Hip Hop: Baggy/comfortable clothes (no leotards, tights, jeans, or jewelry), hair secured away from the face.

    Acro: Any formfitting dance attire, any color or style (no jewelry), hair secured away from the face.

    Attire:
    Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern/Lyrical/Contemporary: Black leotard (ballet skirts are allowed for pointe classes only), pink tights, hair in a bun. Plain black form-fitting shorts are permitted only in jazz, tap, lyrical/contemporary, and modern.

    Hip Hop: Baggy/comfortable clothes (no leotards, tights, jeans, or jewelry), hair secured away from the face.

    Acro: Any formfitting dance attire, any color or style (no jewelry), hair secured away from the face.

    Shoes:
    Junior/Apprentice Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers (#MEM-W250-PK)

    Senior/Pre-Pro Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers (#MEM-W250-PK) — if performing on flat. Pink or flesh colored canvas split-sole ballet slippers (#MEM-W550-PK) can be worn for classes.

    Modern, Lyrical/Contemporary: Bare feet

    Tap: Black leather tie tap shoes (#MEM-1650-BLK)

    Junior/Apprentice Hip Hop: Any all black low-rise sneaker (not available through MEMDT Classwear Store)

    Senior/Pre-Pro Hip Hop: All white Nike Court Vision Low sneaker (not available through MEMDT Classwear Store)

    Acro: Barefoot

    All Jazz: Lt. Suntan slip on jazz shoe (#MEM-W800-LS)

    Senior & Pre-Pro Level Jazz: Also required—Bloch Splitflex 2.5” (Style #S0390L) heel character shoe in Tan (not available through MEMDT Classwear Store)
